Our People
People build careers at SJM. Every new joiner completes a structured induction covering service, sustainability and responsible gaming, and development continues throughout — more than 721,000 training hours in 2025, delivered on the job, through digital learning platforms and through scholarships and subsidies.
Care underpins retention. Employee voice is formalised through the SJM Staff Welfare Consultative Committee, and wellbeing support ranges from paid hospitalisation leave, introduced in 2025, to the SJM Care hotline and health programmes recognised under the Healthy Enterprise Programme. Staff turnover remains below 10 per cent, and SJM maintains a diverse, inclusive and harassment-free workplace, with local employment prioritised.
Health & Safety
Safety at SJM is managed as one system covering employees, guests, contractors and visitors. In 2025 SJM achieved its first company-wide ISO 45001 certification of its Occupational Health and Safety Management System — a risk-based framework overseen by a dedicated department, with safety risk assessments extended to guest-facing and public areas, from event setup to shuttle bus operations. SJM recorded zero work-related fatalities for the third consecutive year.
Guest safety is built into the stay. On-site clinics operate around the clock with first-aid-certified security personnel and AED coverage, security infrastructure spans all properties, and a safety and comfort survey introduced across our guest feedback platforms in 2025 provides a direct channel for concerns — with an overall satisfaction rate of 99.5 per cent.
Community
Community is where SJM began, and our contribution is organised under ROOTED, our community framework: Rallying for Our Nation’s Prosperity · Offering Macau’s Cultural Heritage to the World · Orchestrating Sport for a Healthy, Vibrant Macau · Trailblazing Pathways for Talent · Energising Economic Diversification · Deepening Roots in Our Community.
In 2025, team members contributed 42,344 hours of service across more than 400 CSR events, with flagship support including MOP 700,000 each to Tung Sin Tong’s annual campaign and to Macau’s 42nd Walk for a Million, joined by more than 3,000 of our people and their families.
These programmes respond directly to Macau’s development priorities — promoting arts and culture, advancing sports development, investing in education and youth including national education, and supporting the city’s economic diversification alongside the SME initiatives described under SME & Local Procurement. The latest programmes and events are published in CSR Events, linked from each flagship programme on this page.
SME & Local Procurement
Guided by the principle of Macau SMEs First, SJM’s procurement serves as an instrument of local economic development: 73 per cent of our vendors are local Macau suppliers, and purchases from local SMEs grew 4 per cent in 2025. The SJM and Macau SME Procurement Partnership Programme, running since 2016, has engaged more than 2,310 local SMEs — 67 per cent of which have become registered vendors with the Group.
Beyond procurement, we build SME capability. The SJM SME Institution, launched in 2024, delivers monthly themed seminars, workshops and behind-the-scenes experience tours at Grand Lisboa Palace, with more than 240 SMEs participating in 2025, supported by the SJM SME Portal as its online platform. Monthly roadshows and community marketplaces at our properties generated more than MOP 1.6 million in revenue for participating SMEs during the year.
